Winton Woods City Schools to Host “Touch a Truck: Touch My Future” Career Awareness Event for Kindergarten Students

CINCINNATI (Apr. 17, 2026) — Winton Woods City Schools will host its "Touch a Truck: Touch My Future" event on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Winton Woods Early Childhood Central Campus, 825 Waycross Road.

Designed for approximately 300 kindergarten students, this hands-on experience introduces young learners to a wide range of careers through interactive exploration of real vehicles and equipment used in the workforce.

Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals and explore vehicles representing careers in:

  • Transportation and Logistics
  • Construction and Skilled Trades
  • First Responders Careers
  • Public Service Careers

This event is part of Winton Woods’ broader commitment to building a comprehensive K-12 Career Technical Education (CTE) system, grounded in the framework of Academics, Pathways, Careers—ensuring that students are exposed early to career possibilities and real-world connections to learning.

"Career awareness starts early. Touch a Truck: Touch My Future allows our youngest learners to begin making connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them," said Dr. Adonica Jones-Parks, CTE Coordinator for Winton Woods City Schools. "This is about building a foundation where students see purpose in learning and begin to imagine their futures, and their options are limitless in all career fields."

The district is partnering with local businesses, public service agencies, and community organizations to make this event possible. Participating partners will provide vehicles, demonstrations, and engagement opportunities that allow students to ask questions and learn directly from professionals in the field.

In addition to career exploration, students will enjoy a fun and engaging environment that blends learning with interactive experiences.

Winton Woods City Schools continues to expand access to career-connected learning through initiatives that support early exposure, exploration, and long-term pathway development, preparing students for both college and careers.

Tuskegee Airmen Exhibition Coming to Greenhills for Two Free Community Nights

GREENHILLS, Ohio (Feb. 16, 2026) — Community members are invited to experience the inspiring history of the Tuskegee Airmen during a free, two-night exhibition at the Greenhills Community Building Gymnasium. The Tuskegee Airmen Exhibition will be open Thursday, February 19 and Monday, March 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at 8 Enfield St., Cincinnati, OH 45218.

The exhibit aims to educate the next generation through a collection of books, photographs, paintings, and period materials, along with documentary screens that help tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first Black military airmen. Trained as pilots, navigators, mechanics, and bombardiers, these aviators were prepared at Tuskegee University, which was awarded the training contract because of its established airfield and pilot training program.

The Tuskegee Airmen formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. The 332nd Fighter Group, made up of four squadrons, earned a reputation for excellence and had one of the lowest loss records of World War II while protecting American bombers from enemy fighters. In fact, they received three Distinguished Unit Citations for their combat performance.

The exhibition highlights the journeys of individual Airmen, their service and contributions during World War II, and the path they paved for those who followed. The event is open to the entire community and admission is free.
