Grades 1-6 Learning

Winton Woods City Schools students in grades 1-6 receive their instructions across three grade-band configurations:

  • Primary School (Grades 1-2)
  • Elementary School (Grades 3-4)
  • Intermediate School (Grades 5-6)

All instruction occurs at our student-inspired South Campus, which is designed to support our Project-Based Learning approach. Education in the district’s primary and elementary buildings focuses on differentiated instruction, data-driven lessons, Ohio Learning Standards, and classroom technology. Over 96% of third grade students met the requirements of Ohio’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee. Winton Woods Intermediate School offers strong academics and a variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs. Chorus, band, and orchestra are offered beginning in fifth grade, and all students in grades 1-6 participate in visual or performing arts courses. Learn more about these and other specialized program opportunities at our Specialized Programming 1-6 page.
