Career-Technical Education (CTE)
At Winton Woods City Schools, we believe the best preparation for the future is doing real work, not just studying it. Career-Technical Education gives our Warriors the skills, credentials, and confidence to step into careers and college programs that are in demand right now, right here in Greater Cincinnati and beyond.
What Is Career-Technical Education?
Career-Technical Education integrates traditional academic skills with technical, job-specific skills and real-world employability. It combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and work-based experiences that help students connect what they're learning to where they're going.
When students complete a CTE pathway, they typically earn industry-recognized credentials, certifications, or licenses that employers and colleges value. Many CTE programs also open the door to associate and bachelor's degrees by sequencing those credentials into college coursework.
Put simply, CTE answers the question every student has asked at some point: Why do I need to know this?
CTE is a sequence of courses that blends academic learning with hands-on, industry-focused skill-building. It's not a track, it's an opportunity. Whether a student plans to go straight into the workforce, earn a professional credential, pursue an associate degree, or attend a four-year university, CTE helps them get there with more knowledge, more experience, and a head start on the competition.
CTE is for every student: those who know exactly what they want to do, those who are still exploring, and everyone in between.
