Important Message from Superintendent Anthony G. Smith

Winton Woods

Winton Woods Parents and Guardians:

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work with our staff to move to Phase IV. On Wednesday, February 10th, all staff members are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will be administered on Wednesday, February 10th at the Hamilton County Educational Service Center (HCESC). According to the ODH (Ohio Department of Health) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), some staff members may have a reaction to the vaccine which could prohibit them from performing their duties at 100%. As a remedy to the unpredictable possible reaction, we are requiring all teachers to prepare meaningful, quality lessons for all students in the event that a reaction to the vaccine may occur. The reactions may vary based on the individual. Therefore, all students and staff will work remotely on Wednesday, February 10th; Thursday, February 11th; and Friday, February 12th. Your child will receive additional information from their teachers. Please remember that Monday, February 15th is Presidents’ Day.

If your child was scheduled to report four days a week, they will attend on Tuesday the 16th, Wednesday the 17th, Thursday the 18th, and Friday the 19th. If your child was scheduled to attend on Blue days, they will attend on Tuesday the 16th/Wednesday the 17th; the Green group will remain the same - Thursday the 18th/Friday the 19th.

As a gentle reminder, if you have been following the reports from the media, there will be another vaccine distributed on Wednesday, March 3rd – 21 days from the first dose. We will communicate more at a later date.

Thank you for your patience. We believe that we are making progress in creating a viable safety environment for your child to learn, grow and prosper.

Sincerely,

Anthony G. Smith

Superintendent
