WWHS Student Athletes Commit to Colleges on National Signing Day

National Signing Day

On February 5, Winton Woods High School held their Athletic Signing Day in the media center for ten students who decided to take their athletic talents beyond the school campus. Family, friends, and staff were present to take photos and watch as the students committed to the college of their choosing. “Your talent determines what you can do, your motivation determines how much you are willing to do, your attitude determines how well you do it,” is what the pamphlet read along with each of the students’ names and colleges.

During the ceremony, each student announced where they will attend in the fall and what sport they will participate in. Signing letters of intent for football were Jevon Thompson, Ohio Dominican University; Will Whitson, Independence Community College; Jamonte Murray, The University of Findlay; Akrm Ahmed, Mount St. Joseph University; Kenny Brooks, Walsh University; Mi’Quan Grace, Independence Community College; and Brendon Lowry, Indiana Wesleyan University. Kamille Austin and Kaliyah Keese committed to Central State University for volleyball, and Coby Sanders committed to Urbana University for wrestling.

We are proud of all the hard work and impact each of these student athletes have had on their sport. Their academics as well as athletic achievements will help them begin a new exciting next chapter. We wish them the best with all their future endeavors.
