Anya Bird
John Paul II - Reading

I have been in the teaching profession for over 20 years. I started my career as a language arts teacher in the Lakota School district teaching junior high students. During that time, I also earned my master’s degree in reading and became Orton Gillinhmam certified. After 15 years with Lakota, I found myself ready to focus solely on reading intervention.  Working at JPII has enabled me to work with students of all grades, K-8. I enjoy working with the younger students as they are learning to read, and I also enjoy teaching older students to read to learn using various comprehension tips and strategies.
