“Nutrition is the Mission” at Winton Woods City Schools. As of June 12, every child in the community will have the opportunity to experience a free nutritious meal throughout the summer. The celebration kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Winton Woods Intermediate School Tuesday morning. Winton Woods Warrior families, staff, members and business and community leaders joined together to celebrate the opening of the new opportunity for the children in our community. At the ceremony, Director of Child Nutrition Mark Doctor surprised his staff by having them cut the ribbon with him to unveil the new food mobilization vehicle.

Through the mobile bus program, more than 20,000 meals are expected to be distributed during the eight weeks of summer. “This is just one of the many exciting programs to come,” said Superintendent Anthony G. Smith. In addition to the bus, the Child Nutrition Department will use a “Nutrition is the Mission” van to distribute meals in two locations including Springfield Township.

“This is the best project I’ve ever worked on,” said Doctor. At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Doctor thanked the community for their support and recognized everyone who helped turn his idea into reality including Nick Durante of Vivid Wraps, Frank Marino of Linex of Southern Ohio, Kevin Seibert of Cummins Sales and Service, Todd Feldhaus of TMI- Electrical Solutions Inc., and Dustin Miller of Tuff Shop. The meal distribution vehicles will travel to the six following locations in the community:
