Dear Parents of Primary North and South students:

We want to welcome you and your child(ren) to a new school year at our buildings.  The staff is busy getting classrooms and material ready for the first day of school.  We know what an exciting time of year this is for everyone!  We are hoping to alleviate some anxieties with this mailing.  Please read the attachments carefully about the new uniform dress code changes.  Remember, all bookbags must be clear or mesh.

1. We are inviting all our families to attend and Open House on Thursday, August 23^rd beginning at 6:30 pm.  Parents and students will be able to visit classrooms and meet staff.  Details will be arriving in August.
2. You should receive teacher assignment letters around August 17, 2007, for all grade levels.  If you do not receive yours by August 20^th, please call our office.
3. Kindergarten and Grade 1.  Parents of kindergarteners and grade 1 students will receive a letter, with a time, to attend a session for a brief assessment of each child.  Assessment times will be on August 27^th, 28^th, or 29^th for approximately 2-30 minutes.  Parent and child attend during that time.  Then, kindergarteners and first graders will begin school on Thursday, August 30^th.
4. Grade 2:  The first day of school for Grade 2 students is on August 27^th. 
5. Our curriculum nights for grades 1 and 2 will be Wednesday, September 5th.
