Welcome to the website for

 Winton Woods High School!

The mission of Winton Woods High School is to create a culture where success is the only option. Our goal is to develop productive citizens who have the skills to choose the direction they want for their lives beyond high school. With this "end in mind," we work to provide educational opportunities that meet and support the varied needs of our students.

The staff of Winton Woods High School sets high expectations in both academic and career/technical studies. We offer College Preparatory, Honors, and Advanced Placement programs and work to incorporate hands-on, relevant projects and problems to help students make connections between school experiences and real-world applications. In addition, we provide virtual learning and intervention programs to support those students who need remediation and/or extra help. Many students also participate in our Fine Arts program, which is among the best in the area, and extracurricular activities, which provide enriching social interactions.

Winton Woods High School has a guidance program that works with students and parents to guarantee that every student is actively involved in the most appropriate program. Counselors meet with students regularly to provide guidance and support. They work with staff members to maintain communication with the home to ensure that parents stay abreast of students' progress. The College and Tranistion Program advisor works with the counselors to connect each student with a future beyond high school and to help new enrollees experience a smooth transition to our school. Henry Edwards wrote, "We must teach our children to dream with their eyes open." At Winton Woods High School, we not only want our students to dream of their future but also have the skills to find their place in it.

School Philosophy

We believe all students can learn.

We believe in valuing diversity.

We believe school makes a difference in the life of a student.

We believe the responsibility for the education of students is shared by students, parents, staff, and community.

We further believe we must provide an educational community that:

  • maximizes the learning potential of every student.
  • provides for equal access to educational opportunities.
  • prepares students to participate in a democratic society.
  • promotes the development of positive self image.
  • responds to differences of talent, ability, interest and need.
  • leads students to lifelong, self-directed learning.
  • promotes physical fitness and appreciation of the fine arts.
  • promotes commitment to purposes and causes which go beyond self-interest.

Therefore, the mission of the Winton Woods City School District is to provide quality education for all students. Quality education is achieved when the organization provides for appropriate instruction and the depth and breadth of the program meets the needs of a diverse population. This program must exist in an environment that is safe, orderly and conducive to learning.

DRop-Off & Pick-Up at the High School

Students may be dropped-off and picked up each day following one of two traffic patterns. There will be adults visible and directing traffic.

1)      There will be a loop via Central Park Drive. Enter the lot, stay on the outside of the cones, and pull all the way around to the doors near the gymnasium. You then exit via Central Park Drive as well.

2)      There will be a loop off Kemper Road. Enter the parking lot. Drive up to the building and pull to the front entrance. You then can make a loop through the lot and exit the same way back to Kemper.
