Hi, I’m Steve Denny, the Principal of Winton Woods Elementary School.  I’ve been an educator for fourteen years and I’ve spent over half of my career in the Winton Woods City School District.  A former Math teacher by trade, I taught Math for six years in Southern California and three years at Winton Woods High School before moving into the role of Assistant Principal at Winton Woods Middle School for three years and later, for one year at Winton Woods High School.  This past year I had the pleasure of serving as the principal of Winton Forest Elementary School.  I’ve had the opportunity to experience many positive roles in working with young people—I’ve been a teacher, tutor, mentor, Director of Student Activities, Varsity Track coach, district Math Facilitator, Freshman Football coach, Jr. High Flag Football coach, Assistant Principal and now, as an Elementary Principal at WWES.

I graduated from Norwood Senior High School and earned my Bachelor’s degree from Ambassador University, a small liberal arts college located near the city of Tyler in East Texas.  I received my Masters degree in Educational Administration with an Emphasis in Urban Leadership from the California State University at Los Angeles and completed my administrative licensure coursework at both the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University.

I am the proud and privileged father of three children, my son, Jorden, age 9 and my twin daughters Alexandria and Erika, age 7.  My wife, Corina and I have been married for thirteen years.  My interests include running & exercise, weight lifting, reading novels, watching & playing football, baseball & basketball, playing chess & other strategy games, eating spicy foods, collecting books and of course, playing with my kids.

I believe that every child can learn.  It is my mission to see that every child finds success and achieves to the best of his or her ability.  At this new school named Winton Woods Elementary, we truly deliver a world-class education.
