Six WWES students were selected to represent the school on Tuesday, January 22 at Forest Park City Hall. The students opened the monthly Forest Park City Council meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. These six students were chosen based on the number of Accelerated Reader (AR) points they had accumulated so far this year. Each of the following students had the most AR points on their respective grade-level team: Abigail Ewald (Team 3 - I), Noah Thomas (Team 3 - II), Troy Ayers (Team 3 - III), Cindy Vivar (Team 4 - I), Jayson Booker (Team 4 - II) and Tiana Bane (Team 4 - III).

Accelerated Reader is a web-based program that allows students to take a quick

test after they read a book. Students earn AR points for each of these tests that

they pass. The list of books available is extensive. AR is a great reading

motivation program. These students were also awarded with a small prize at the

City Council meeting and back at their school. Nice work students!
