DISTRICT SEEKS BEST OPTION FOR STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY

Superintendent Anthony G. Smith and the 3,600 students throughout Winton Woods City Schools hope voters will approve the district’s building bond issue on the May 5 ballot. Passage of Issue 3 means construction can begin on two new campuses in the district—a pre-K through sixth grade elementary school on the current Winton Woods Middle School campus in Greenhills and a new seventh through twelfth grade secondary school on the current Winton Woods High School campus in Forest Park.

CHINA TRIP IS "AMAZING" EXPERIENCE FOR WINTON WOODS STUDENTS AND STAFF

Like most of the Winton Woods band students who traveled to China over spring break, Makayla Pitts described the experience as “truly amazing.” Pitts, who has been in band since fifth grade said, “I went out of the country for the first time, played on the Great Wall, ate totally different food, was able to listen to other students, and experienced part of the world that is so different from ours.”

SUPERINTENDENT RECOGNIZED FOR COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION

Winton Woods Superintendent Anthony G. Smith will be recognized on Friday, May 1, by the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa for being a positive black role model and for his commitment to and concern for the education of youth in the Cincinnati area. The presentation will take place during the group’s 75th Annual Midwest Regional Conference, being held in Cincinnati from April 30 - May 3.

ATHLETES SIGN COLLEGE LETTERS OF INTENT

Winton Woods City Schools recently held a spring Signing Day ceremony for student athletes Kevin Austin and Austin Jones. Austin has signed to play basketball at Ohio Northern University and Jones has signed to play basketball at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
