Letter to Parents

by Rhonda Test Hobbs last modified Wednesday, July 25

This school year is a new and exciting time as we move to the grade level buildings in our district!

This could possibly be the first bus riding experience for many students and we want it to transition as smoothly as possible.  Our goal in transportation is to provide a safe and timely ride for all students.

Summer routing is completed in August and bus passes are mailed to each home within the week before school starts.  The bus pass will be mailed to the address on file in the student data system.  Please remember to report any changes in your contact information as soon as it occurs to your student's school.  This includes address, home phone, work phone, cell phone, emergency contact person(s), daycare providers, etc.  Any address change requires proof of residency.  Alternate Stop/Daycare request forms are available online or through the school office and will be processed per the guidelines on the form.

As a parent you can help in the following ways:

  • Students are assigned to stops generally at corners in groups.  We encourage parents to share in the monitoring of the students as they wait for their bus.
  • Please make sure your student arrives at the stop 5 minutes prior to the pick up time and waits at least 10 feet back from the bus in their place of safety as the bus approaches.
  • Help your student understand the importance of obeying the rules to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Your support is essential!

If you have any questions or concerns, please free to send a note to the driver or call the transportation office at 619-2405.

 Thank you,
