Winton Woods Community PTA

Membership and fundraisers are an important part of the role of PTA in helping to provide quality support for all of our PreK - 6th grade students. Money earned by the PTA goes toward a long list of support items for our children, including school buses for field trips, air conditioners for our buildings, and fun, educational programs. Your support of the Winton Woods Community PTA this year would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for an easy, top of the line dinner tonight? The Winton Woods Community PTA is offering Market Day sales, which will benefit all four Winton Woods Elementary schools. How do you order these quality products? Just go to www.marketday.com or call 1-877-632-7753 and be sure to use the new account number 25950. Orders for the August sale must be placed no later than noon on Monday, August 6th and can be picked up at Winton Woods Elementary School (formerly Winton Forest Elementary) at 1501 Kingsbury Drive in Forest Park on August 10th between 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Who can order? ANYONE! Tell your family members, coworkers and friends.

The PTA will be offering membership sign-up on August 10th during the Market Day pickup times. The cost to be a member of the new Winton Woods Community PTA is only $5.00, and there are no strings attached. Your membership does not require you to volunteer unless you would like to, but it does make you part of an extremely beneficial, fun, energetic family that serves all Winton Woods elementary school students in our community. Please help us help our kids!

Winton Woods Varsity Ensemble Chorus Holds China Trip Benefit Concert

Winton Woods High School’s national award-winning Varsity Ensemble will hold a benefit concert to help fund the group’s upcoming trip to Beijing, China. The concert, “From Broadway to Spirituals,” will take place on the lawn of the Kemper Road Christian Church at the corner of Kemper and Hanover Roads at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 28.

“In addition to performances by members of the Varsity Ensemble, we’ll be joined by some special friends that evening,” said Winton Woods Choral Director David Bell. “We have friends and alumni of the group who are returning to perform, as well as the Southern Gateway Chorus.” Courtis Fuller of WLWT-TV will serve as emcee of the event. Concessions will also be sold, with all proceeds going to benefit the China trip.

“Our communities have been so generous in their support of this effort,” said Bell. Contributions sent in to district offices total over $14,000 so far, with an addition $600 brought in through an information booth set up at the Greenhills Pioneer Days Festival. Students have held car washes, made appearances on local radio stations, and stood holding signs advertising local businesses to raise money for the trip. Corporate grants and sponsors are also being sought by the district to meet an August deadline for the trip.

If you are interested in contributing, tax-deductible donations may be sent to the Winton Woods Educational Foundation, Inc., Treasurer, 1215 West Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240. Donations should be earmarked “China Trip.”
