The PSAT and SAT are another series of tests designed to assess your level of college-readiness. Many colleges will use your SAT score, along with other factors, to determine your college acceptance. In addition to the SAT, some colleges will require you to take and SAT Subject Tests for admission into their program; or students may elect to take a Subject test to further distinguish their application. Be sure to check your college's admission requirement on SAT Subject Tests
In order to prepare for the SAT, we encourage all students to take the PSAT. It is given once a year in October. The PSAT is not only designed to prepare you for the SAT, but it will also give you a critical look into your academic strengths and challenges. It will also offer student information and tools they can use to explore colleges and careers. Furthermore, students that perform well on the PSAT will have an opportunity to have access to several scholarships toward furthering their education. In particular, The National Merit Scholars, are chosen from students taking the PSAT. Please see the links below for further information on the PSAT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests.
