Winton Woods Sophomore to Attend HOBY Leadership Conference

Winton Woods High School sophomore Derrick Ramsey will be attending the HOBY Leadership Conference in June.

Winton Woods High School sophomore Derrick Ramsey has been chosen to represent the school at the Southwest Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Conference in June 2010.  HOBY’s purpose is to bring together a select group of high school sophomores who have demonstrated leadership ability so that they can interact with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, education, and the professions to discuss present and future issues. Selected high school students from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan and Israel attend annually.

HOBY was founded in 1958 and its mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.  HOBY programs provide youth selected by their schools to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences.
