Winton Woods Seeks Host Families

by Gina Burnett last modified Tuesday, August 19

It’s that time of the year when the foreign exchange students have or will be arriving and are looking forward to spending a GREAT year here in the USA.  I ask you to consider opening your hearts and home to this wonderful opportunity!

The students that are here are already involved and waiting for the first day of school!  We have been experiencing “Cincinnati” and a few city favorites…like GRAETER’S!

Believe me, this opportunity to share will change your life forever!  I have had 4 former students here to visit over the summer, and they have such wonderful memories.

I have chosen some wonderfully talented students to attend WINTON WOODS HIGH SCHOOL.  I am working diligently to find permanent host families who will make this the most memorable year of their life!

You do not need to speak their language, as they are here to learn to be American Teenagers!  You will need to feed and house them and love them!  Believe me, you always get more than you give!  They have their own money for all incidentals and entertainment.  They have medical insurance.  As part of my group, you will receive support and guidance as I believe in the group approach and have the families and students of my group do things together for support.  You do not have to do all of the entertaining as EF plans trips throughout the year that your own children may also go on!

There are two mandatory meetings – one as soon as the student arrives (Sunday Sept 7th) and another before they leave (Pot luck with LOTS of good food).

If there is a family interested in a boy, I have other students assigned to our Ohio group who are still looking for a permanent family and would be happy to show you their applications!

PLEASE, let me talk to you in more depth if this is something you might consider.

Share this information to friends, church members, youth groups….anyone who you think would be interested in this wonderful opportunity!

We have the opportunity to share our country and culture and great community with these students.  Go to http://www.effoundation.org/ to see some great stories from families who made the decision to host!

There are other students in other school districts in need of permanent host families!  If you need to reach the EF Foundation representative near you, please call me!

Looking forward to hearing from you!
