Winton Woods Schools Continue Cutting Costs
The Winton Woods School District is switching electric providers in order to save about $35,000 per year over its current energy bill. Business Manager Steve Mathews has locked in rates with Constellation Energy for three years. “We know that Duke has price increases already approved, so our savings will be even higher in future years,” said Mathews.
The district has already cut over $1 million this year, including freezing administrative salary increases and using energy conservation measures throughout the district.
"Since the financial outlook is bleak with the failure of our recent levy, the district is looking at all options to save money and reduce our future operating expenses,” said Mathews.
