Winton Woods Middle School seventh graders Hailey Senger (left) and Taylor Baird acted as hosts at this year’s 8th grade Career Fair. Here they are pictured with Dr. Erin Kelly and her dog Wrigley.

Eighth grade students at Winton Woods Middle School were able to look into their futures at the school’s annual Career Fair on March 6. Thirty seven booths were set in the school gymnasium so students could explore careers like radio communications with personalities from the BUZZ, the WIZ, and the new MOJO. Or they could watch Cincinnati Enquirer photographer Cara Owsley in action as she spoke to students and photographed them at the fair. Or they could learn about forensic investigations from Forest Park Police Sergeant James Ward.

“We believe the information given to our students will benefit them tremendously in the future,” said Guidance Counselor Kim Goins, who worked with Counselor Kim Sterwerf to put together the Career Fair.

As students talked to career representatives, they filled out a questionnaire with information about job qualifications, work skills needed, training and educational requirements, work environment and entry-level salary. One of the most popular stops for students was at the booth of Veterinarian Dr. Erin Kelly who brought her dog, Wrigley. “I knew Wrigley would be a draw,” Kelly said.
