Winton Woods High School Hands Out Band Camp Awards

The Winton Woods High School Marching Band.

The Winton Woods High School Marching Band held its annual band camp from July 27 - August 1 at Wright State University. Awards presented for 2008 include:

Best Overall Freshmen – Emily Cleary, Drew Topits and James Honaker

Best Overall Sophomores – Kareesha Springer and Corey Stewart

Best Overall Juniors – Dominique Reeves and Alex McCain

Best Overall Seniors – Alandria Allen and Kyle Day

Best All-Around Band Members – Brianna Dennis, Danny Rodgers and Jay Jordan

Best Marching Section – Saxophones

Crankin’est Section – Percussion

Most Spirited Members – Corey Stewart, Nathan Hackmann, Corey Robinson, Keizayyla Fambro, Antoinette Pope, Tanesha Pope, Kyla Scott, Kayla Scott, Dominique Reeves and Kelsie Rogers.

Most Improved Players – Paul Davis and Liv Matthews

Most Improved Marchers – Ashley Berry and Alex McCaslin

Fastest Memorizers – Danny Rodgers and Alandria Allen

Fastest Freshmen Memorizers – Keith Hamilton and Michael Spalding

Best Flag – Jacqueline Rodriguez

Most Improved Color Guard Member – Kela McBride

 

Senior Patricia Bailey designed this year’s band camp t-shirt which honors master songwriter Stevie Wonder.  The band’s half-time show features Wonder’s hit songs "Sir Duke," "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."
