Winton Woods Board President Appointed to State Education Panel
Winton Woods Board of Education President John Pennycuff has been appointed to an education advisory panel by the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) to represent the Board of Education perspective. Pennycuff is part of a cadre of School Board members providing feedback to Governor Ted Strickland's office and to Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Susan Tave Zelman.
Pennycuff and 15 fellow School Board members met in the Statehouse with Dr. John Stanford, the governor's executive assistant for education policy, and had a conversation focused on improving Ohio's public schools. The group then walked to the Ohio Department of Education to receive a briefing on the 2008 local school district report cards and shared their views on education with Dr. Zelman. Additional meetings are planned.
The OSBA is in its 53rd year of service to public education and represents the state's public school boards. OSBA's services include management consulting, continuing education through training programs and workshops, policy development, legal services, legislative initiatives, management services, superintendent and other executive searches, information, technology, employee relations and communications.
