About 70 members of the Division II State Champion Winton Woods Warrior football team gathered at Riley’s Restaurant in Greenhills for a “Salute to the Warriors” dinner sponsored by Riley’s Managing Partner Thierry Winkfield and owners Ken and Gloria Riley on Monday, December 21. “We’re here to support the community and this great achievement and to be part of great successes,” said Winkfield.

“This team has had a tremendous season,” said Ken Riley. “You have to celebrate milestones, and this is a milestone not only for the school district but for the communities that are part of the district.” Greenhills Council Member Glenn Drees, who stopped by to offer his congratulations, called the evening a time of celebration and encouraged the young men to “build on what you’ve accomplished through teamwork.”

While at the restaurant, the team showed off the state champion trophy it received and celebrated with a free buffet of hamburgers, fries, drinks and a specially-decorated cake. “We’re adding a ‘Warrior Burger’ to our menu sometime in the New Year, and we’re asking customers for suggestions of what the ingredients for that burger should be,” said Ken Riley.
