Eric Dudley, Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) and Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO), visited Winton Woods High School on February 14 for an in-school clinic with orchestra members.

“The students are working towards OMEA State Contest on Saturday, March 1,” said Winton Woods Orchestra Director Jonathan Welch. “Eric worked on the shaping and the phrasing of the Tchaikovsky ‘Serenade for Strings.’  He concentrated on having the students listen to each other to play correctly stylistically and to play as a better ensemble.”

Dudley worked with students for about an hour and “his conducting brought out a very mature sound from the orchestra,” said Welch.
