Look through my website and find things for class or visit the web links that I've provided for you. They are typically health websites, but they may also lead to different interests of mine.
Mr. Craig Filipkowski
Dear students,
I wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself and let you know what is to be expected in your health class. Thinking, being a responsible student, and giving effort are all important factors in your success this semester.
While attending Miami University (Oxford), my student teaching was completed at Winton Woods City Schools and I immediately accepted a job after graduation. This is my eighth year, and I plan on staying here for a long time. In addition to teaching, I also coach the freshman football team and am studying educational administration at Xavier University.

We will have quizzes on a regular basis which are pointed out in each month's calendar. In addition, we will write about and debate topics within health in order to develop each student's ability to think critically and communicate his or her opinion effectively. Topics covered in health include fitness, nutrition, drugs and alcohol, mental health, first aid and CPR, life skills, and family health. Guest speakers are brought in as often as possible so that students may hear from perspectives beyond my own.
When I consider the environment of my class, I ask myself two questions. 1.) Why did I become a teacher? - the students! 2.) Would I want my daughter to be in my class?- Yes!
Everyone has different learning styles. However one thing we all have in common, each of us can learn in a quiet, orderly environment. Thus, it is my job to make sure everyone is comfortable and able to learn in my class. With your cooperation, I will reciprocate respect and the effort you deserve from a teacher.
Responsibility
1.) Complete homework
2.) Make up work missed when absent
3.) Get to class on time
Expression
1.) Critical thinking
2.) Students present ideas and facts through discussion and technology
Knowledge
1.) Students will understand basic health concepts and interpret how they affect their own lives.
2.) Students are tested on both acquisition of information and its application in "our world".
I welcome you to my class and wish that you have a great experience at the high school.
GO WARRIORS!
