SENIORS EARN $5.5 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS

This year’s graduating class from Winton Wood High School earned $5.5  million in scholarships from in-state and out-of-state colleges. Some students are traveling to schools like the University of Tennessee and American University for their college careers, while others are staying close to home with choices like the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University and The Ohio State University. Athletic scholarships were offered to students participating in basketball, football, and softball. In addition to college, seniors are enlisting in the military, entering trade schools and contributing to the economy by seeking employment.

SIBLINGS ARE FOUR-TIME STATE MATH CHAMPS

For an amazing fourth year in a row, siblings Nicolantonio and Aversa Prentosito, both students in Winton Woods City Schools, have come out as state winners in the Math Kangaroo Olympiad, an international competition. This year Aversa scored third in the state, and 43rd in the nation, in her division against over 1,000 students. Nicolantonio scored second in the state, and 40th in the nation, in his division against more than 3,000 competitors.

Forest Park-Winton Woods City Schools is making strategic administrative changes as the school year ends. "Everything that we are putting in place is for what is best for our children," said Superintendent Anthony G. Smith.
